Event Wise – another training within ELEVATE project.

Event Wise training was the next in the series of training planned as part of the ELEVATE project. The intensive 7-days training organized by the Olde Vechte Foundation involves learning by doing and learning through immersion. These are very effective methods used in non-formal education, thanks to which tangible results are achieved.

We proposed this training in the project, because we want our trainers to learn from the best. We assumed that thanks to this training, the participating trainers will develop their skills in dealing with difficult situations and criticism, as well as creative problem solving. In addition, we wanted to increase their confidence in working with the group and to develop their methodological workshop as well as get inspired by the methods of working with groups that they experienced during training.

One of our trainers who participated in this training shares her reflections. The effect of this training is Agnieszka’s article ‘The circle of identity’, or how to talk about identity in an international group?

On October 23-29, 2019, I had the pleasure to take part in the Event Wise training conducted by the Olde Vechte Foundation in the Dutch city of Ommen.

The “Event Wise” training assumes conducting classes both in the training room and outdoor. Many sessions were dedicated to movement, dance, body expression and learning based on the “embodiment” method, which is why the exercises were accompanied by music, play and fun.

This training challenged my resourcefulness and ability to achieve the desired results, threw me out of the comfort zone, but thus positively influenced self-confidence, overcoming boundaries, and establishing lasting and sincere interpersonal relationships.

This training challenged my resourcefulness and ability to achieve the desired results, threw me out of the comfort zone, but thus positively influenced self-confidence, overcoming boundaries, and establishing lasting and sincere interpersonal relationships.

Event Wise equipped me with tools and techniques thanks to which I increased my ability to deal with difficult situations, discover the positive aspects of each event and simply appreciate what is.

The main method of training was learning through experience, learning through doing, which means that short lectures and presentations were followed by practice and workshops in groups or individually.

I treat seven days spent in Ommen as a start in a new stage of life, in which I consciously decide what I want and how I want to achieve it.

I will definitely visit Olde Vechte again.
