Road map to success!

The “Road map to success” workshop was held for a group of students. Its main goal was to familiarize young participants with the method of skillful planning and implementation of activities that will reflect the vision and values they profess, and which, thanks to the appropriate strategy, have the chance to change many aspects of their professional and private life.
We started working with road maps from a VISION, which is a description of an ideal situation, a dream “self”, which a person can become as a result of following a chosen path, realizing individual “tasks” on their path. The vision should be “supported” by motivation, as well as a positive change that the solution should bring.
Vision answers the questions: Who do I want to be? How do I want to feel? What do I want to experience?
Vision can be characterized by four factors: being big, inspirational, concise and accessible. Conciseness makes the vision easy to communicate and understand. Inspirational vision provides motivation and gives direction to development. By design, it is something that does not change very often – usually a specific vision accompanies us at a particular stage of life.
After determining the vision, it is worth choosing several GOALS that will help us get closer to its realization in the most accurate way possible.
The goal will ask: What do I have to do to get there?
There can be several answers and they can change, even if the vision remains the same.
The next step is to check where we are now, what we have and what we lack, what our situation looks like – this point is called “REALITY CHECK“.
After we discover where we are, we set an action plan – STRATEGY.
Strategy is a high level plan that helps you achieve your vision and achieve your goal. It defines how the vision will be realized, what specific STEPS, with the use of what TOOLS, should be taken.
The road map is a description of the strategy – specific actions along with the assumed dates, key functions and goals, methods and frequency of evaluation.
It can be an inspiration and an invitation to reflect on the “dream life”, but also a tool for introducing a new product or planning the work of an organization.
The next element is the IMPLEMENTATION of the plan and CHECKING/EVALUATING whether we achieve the intended effects or whether we are approaching the desired vision.
Each action is followed by a certain RESULT that will reflect our commitment, experience, and funds invested. It is worth being aware that at every stage of the road map you can make changes based on reflection on your current needs.
The road map is a simplified description of the strategy implementation. It is like transferring a defined strategy into specific actions and actions along with the assumed dates, key functions and goals and taking into account the methods and frequency of evaluation.
It can be an inspiration and an invitation to reflect on the “dream life”, but also a tool for introducing a new product, planning the work of an organization or a company.
