Mindfulness – a way to switch off an autopilot life

Initially, I underestimated the value of Mindfulness in my work and personal development. I was thinking that building awareness does not require specific practice and is a side effect of personal development. My approach changed completely during a training in Barcelona: Mindfulness training for teachers: a practical approach.
My first discovery was how often I work on autopilot and how it affects my quality of life. It was great motivation for me to work on my own mindfulness practice, which was the main goal of a training.

During the course, I learned the history, theory, and benefits of mindfulness. Then we explored a variety of tools. Thanks to this, I have gathered a toolbox with methods to use my own practice and work.

I really liked the approach to training and learning through experience, thanks to this training it was varied and interesting.

Another benefit of training was the location. The beautiful and rich architecture of Barcelona encouraged the practice of mindful walking, and the wonderful Catalan cuisine supported mindful eating.

From the practical and theoretical side, I learned the impact of mindfulness on the quality of life by releasing stress and embodiment, a sense of confidence, joy, and enjoyment of life.

The Mindfulness for Teachers: A Practical Approach training, in which Justyna participated was carried out as part of our Wider Horizons project. The project is financed under the Erasmus + program of the European Union.
